Russia Threatens the West With Nuclear War

On March 23, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev warned about the rising threat of nuclear war between Russia and the West. “Every day they provide Ukraine with foreign weapons brings the nuclear apocalypse closer,” he said.

He also warned that attempts to arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin would be a declaration of war against Russia. Last week, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Putin over alleged war crimes, accusing him of deporting Ukrainian children to Russia. Medvedev specifically responded to German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann, who said Putin would be arrested if he visits Germany.

Since the start of the Ukraine war, Medvedev has repeatedly threatened the West with nuclear war. He said Russia’s nuclear forces have played a significant role in deterring Western enemies, adding that “we would have been torn to pieces without them.” In the same interview, he warned nato that a Russian defeat could trigger this nuclear war.

We expect relations between Russia and the West to continue to decline, as Russia is willing to do whatever it takes to conquer Ukraine.
