Zelenskyy Holds Off on Counteroffensive, Says Ukraine Needs More Weapons
Russia has been waiting for Ukraine’s long-anticipated counteroffensive for months, but Ukraine needs more time to prepare. On May 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the spring counteroffensive has been delayed due to a lack of Western weapons.
Since the beginning of the war, Western allies have sent Ukraine over $70 billion worth of military aid. The United States alone pledged over $46 billion within the first year, and just in the last five months, it promised to send $14 billion of weapons and ammunition.
But not all of the aid has arrived yet, according to former British intelligence official Ben Barry. Ukraine was promised 700 armored fighting vehicles but has received only 300, and only 100 of the 300 pledged tanks have arrived.
Zelenskyy said that if the counteroffensive were launched now, Ukraine would lose too many soldiers.
The Trumpet said: Though America and other allies are channeling billions into this war, the situation remains dire. Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry wrote in the May-June 2023 issue:
However deep America’s involvement, its strength will be spent fruitlessly. Bible prophecy shows that America will not be the decisive factor in this war. But as we will see, its actions could end up hastening the fulfillment of other Bible prophecies.
To learn what these other prophecies say and why America’s efforts will be spent in vain, read Mr. Flurry’s article “The Ukraine War Will Not Start World War III!”
