Amount of Chinese Farmland in America Unknown
United States intelligence doesn’t know how much U.S. farmland China owns after a recent buying spree, according to a Bloomberg report published on January 18.
- According to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (usda), foreign ownership of agricultural land rose 40 percent from 2016 to 2021.
But an analysis from the U.S. Government Accountability Office found problems in that report.
