Russia, China, Iran Plan Joint Drills

Russia, China and Iran will hold joint naval drills over the coming weeks, China’s Defense Ministry reported Tuesday.

The drills, aimed at “regional security,” according to Iranian Navy commander Rear Adm. Shahram Irani, will take place before the end of March.

• Other countries have also been invited.
• The location of the drills has not been published.
• This exercise is reminiscent of similar drills the three countries held in the Gulf of Oman last March.
