Mass Shootings Shake America
Four mass shootings plagued the United States this week.
- Sunday: A shooting at Joel Osteen’s megachurch in Houston, Texas, left the shooter dead and two injured.
- Monday: A shooting on a New York City subway platform left one dead, five injured.
- Wednesday: A shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, Missouri, killed one and injured over 20.
- Wednesday: A shooting outside an Atlanta, Georgia, high school injured four.
Perpetrators? Little information has been released about the culprits in the shootings, with the exception of the megachurch shooter who was known to have had a pro-Palestine message on the weapon used.
- The New York subway shooter is still at large.
- Multiple people have been detained concerning the Kansas City shooting, but none have been charged.
- Three suspects have been detained in the Atlanta investigation, but none have been charged.
Why suffering? What possesses someone to shoot up a crowd? What is the solution to these tragedies? If God exists, why does He allow such suffering?
The answers to each of those questions is found in the Holy Bible. Scripture not only has the solution to mass shootings, it also prophesies the heightened turmoil we are experiencing at this time, specifically naming modern-day America.
