Protesters Chant ‘Death to America’ in Michigan
Protesters chanted, “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” at an International al-Quds Day rally in Dearborn, Michigan, on Friday.
For the past 20 years, Muslim residents of Dearborn have held a rally on the last Friday of Ramadan to celebrate Quds Day, an annual day of protest organized by the Iranian government calling for the destruction of Israel.
Against America: Local activist Tarek Bazzi explained at this Friday’s rally that the protest was directed against the United States because it is providing Israel financial support for its war against Hamas. “Gaza has shown the entire world why these protests as so anti-America,” Bazzi claimed.
This is why Imam Khomeini, who declared the International al-Quds Day, this is why he would say to pour all of your chants and all of your shouts upon the head of America.

Protests in the crowd then began chanting, “Death to America!”
“We live in one of the rottenest countries that has ever existed on this Earth,” Bazzi said, quoting Malcolm X, an American Muslim minister and activist. He then called for America’s elimination.
It’s not just Genocide Joe that has to go. It is the entire system that has to go. Any system that would allow such atrocities and such devilry to happen and would support it—such a system does not deserve to exist on God’s Earth.

Against Israel: Bazzi then turned his focus to Israel and said when “fools” ask “if Israel has the right to exist,” the chant “Death to Israel” is “the most logical chant shouted across the world today.”
The crowd then chanted, “Death to Israel!”

Dearborn has the largest Muslim population of any U.S. city with roughly 54 percent of citizens being Arab-American. Many rallies in support of Hamas have taken place in Dearborn since October 7.
