Deep State Diaries: January 6 Protests Emboldened DHS to Spy on Americans

Does the Department of Homeland Security leadership consider you a threat?

The United States government is treating conservatives like foreign terrorists. That is the shocking assessment of America First Legal, a conservative public interest organization investigating the Biden administration.

After achieving victory in a lawsuit on behalf of former ambassador Richard Grenell against the Biden administration’s so-called Homeland Intelligence Experts Group, America First Legal gained access to a huge trove of Department of Homeland Security records. It is now publishing these records as part of a project dubbed the Deep State Diaries.

The first installment of the Deep State Diaries shows that the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group, which included former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan, wanted more Americans to report their neighbors for domestic extremism. The second installment delved deeper into what was meant by “domestic extremism.” The Biden administration classifies someone as likely to commit “domestic violent extremist” attacks if they are “in the military,” if they are “religious,” or if they support Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump.

The most shocking installment of the Deep State Diaries so far, however, is the third installment. This installment shows how the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group discussed using the January 6 Capitol Hill protests and the Federal Bureau of Investigation raid on Mar-a-Lago to justify warrantless surveillance of political dissent.

“One group member noted that ‘prior to January 6,’ (i.e. under the Trump administration), analysts thought that ‘it was inappropriate to collect’ intelligence on Americans,” reported America First Legal on June 24. “Following January 6, however, they observed that there had been a change in collection and reporting methods. The documents indicate that under the Biden administration, the federal government has used January 6 to justify expanding efforts to collect intelligence on what they deem ‘dve’ or ‘Domestic Violent Extremists.’”

You read that right! For more than two centuries after the United States Constitution was ratified, American citizens were protected from unreasonable searches and seizures by the government. Then, in 2008, Congress enacted Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act authorizing warrantless spying on foreigners and Americans talking with, e-mailing or texting foreigners. This action was supposed to protect Americans from al Qaeda terrorists, but now the Brennan-Clapper committee wants to do away with the whole talking-with-foreigners provision and just start spying on religious Trump supporters who think the 2020 election may have been stolen.

When the fbi wanted to spy on Donald Trump’s campaign in 2016, it accused Trump aid Carter Page of talking with foreigners, used the fraudulent Steele dossier to obtain a warrant to spy on him, and then used a “two-hop” rule to spy on Page, anyone connected to Page and anyone connected to anyone connected to Page (including Mr. Trump himself). That is how efficient Section 702 can be when weaponized against your political enemies. So just imagine how efficient using the January 6 Capitol Hill protests could be!

Some 1,265 people were charged with some crime at this protest, but tens of thousands of people attended the #StopTheSteal Rally. So using a “two-hop” rule to spy on people associated with people associated with the January 6 protesters could encapsulate most of the nation. This is exactly what the Brennan-Clapper committee wants.

When Sen. Frank Church led an investigation into cia, fbi and National Security Agency activities in the 1970s, he warned that technological advancements were giving these agencies unprecedented surveillance powers. Senator Church said on nbc’s Meet the Press in 1975:

If this government ever became a tyranny, if a dictator ever took charge in this country, the technological capacity that the intelligence community has given the government could enable it to impose total tyranny, and there would be no way to fight back because the most careful effort to combine together in resistance to the government, no matter how privately it was done, is within the reach of the government to know.

I don’t want to see this country ever go across the bridge. I know the capacity that is there to make tyranny total in America, and we must see to it that this agency and all agencies that possess this technology operate within the law and under proper supervision, so that we never cross over that abyss.

These are the types of powers the Brennan-Clapper committee is talking about. So you better hope the January 6 protesters were wrong about the election being stolen, because there will be no way to organize against the cabal running America’s intelligence community without them knowing about it well ahead of time.

In George Orwell’s novel 1984, the government uses microphones, video cameras and two-way television screens to spy on the population. Today, millions of Americans using computers and smartphones are continuously connected to data—data that can be tracked. The government has a capacity for mass surveillance unlike anything previously imagined.

The late Herbert W. Armstrong explained in his landmark book The United States and Britain in Prophecy that the English-speaking peoples who settled the U.S. and Britain are the descendants of ancient Israel. This astonishing truth means that the Bible’s end-time prophecies concerning Israel are directed at the U.S. and Britain. And one of these end-time prophecies foretells a time when God will use a human leader to temporarily save Israel from being completely destroyed. “For the Lord saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter: for there was not any shut up, nor any left, nor any helper for Israel. And the Lord said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash” (2 Kings 14:26-27).

Millions of Americans are waking up to the threat that this sprawling deep state network presents to individual liberty, but they still do not understand the root causes behind the crisis. The Bible reveals that the serious problems in America’s government are not caused by one man or a group of government officials. Ultimately, they are caused by the sins of the American people as a whole (Isaiah 1:4-7). Only repentance by the people as a whole can prevent the sickness in America’s government from escalating into full-scale revolution and war.

Please read America Under Attack, by Gerald Flurry. It reveals how close America comes to becoming an Orwellian surveillance state, and why God has to intervene at the last minute to save the nation temporarily.
