DOJ Finds Transcripts of Biden Interview From Classified Documents Case

The Department of Justice (doj) said in a court filing on Monday it has transcripts it previously denied having of an interview where Joe Biden revealed to his biographer that he possessed classified information.

The transcripts were created when Special Counsel Robert Hur was investigating Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. The interview revealed Biden broke the law.

But the doj refused to release audio recordings of the interview, saying Biden asserted executive privilege. doj lawyer Cameron Silverberg claimed in a June 18 court hearing that they did not have transcripts.

Turnaround: However, in the court filing on Monday, Silverberg said:

In the past few days … the department located six electronic files, consisting of a total of 117 pages, that appeared to be verbatim transcripts of a small subset of the Biden-Zwonitzer audio recordings created for the [Special Counsel Office] by a court-reporting service.

The transcripts still have not been disclosed to the public.

Why the doj initially denied possessing the transcripts is unknown. But a lot of injustice surrounds Biden’s classified documents case.
