Obama Tells DNC: ‘It Will Be a Fight’

“The torch has been passed,” former President Barack Obama told delegates at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago last night. “Now it is up to all of us to fight for the America we believe in, and make no mistake, it will be a fight.”

Obama endorsed Kamala Harris as “the next president of the United States” in his speech, saying: “America is ready for a new chapter. America’s ready for a better story.”

He said, “History will remember Joe Biden as a president who defended democracy at a moment of great danger.” He added, “We are ready for a President Kamala Harris.”

Michelle Obama: Obama was introduced to the stage by his wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama, after she gave a speech also endorsing Harris and Harris’s running mate, Tim Walz.

My girl, Kamala Harris, is more than ready for this moment. She is one of the most qualified people ever to seek the office of the presidency.

So consider this to be your official ask: Michelle Obama is asking you—no, I’m telling y’all—to do something.

Because y’all, this election is gonna be close. In some states, just a handful—listen to me—a handful of votes in every precinct could decide the winner. So we need to vote in numbers that erase any doubt. We need to overwhelm any effort to suppress us. Our fate is in our hands. …

We did it before, y’all, and we sure can do it again. Let us work like our lives depend on it, and let us keep moving our country forward and go higher—yes, always higher—than we’ve ever gone before, as we elect the next president and vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

Division: Neither Harris nor Walz were at the dnc for their endorsement. Instead, they were at a campaign rally in Milwaukee.

Why? Because Harris and Walz are afraid of appearing alongside the Obamas due to reports that Barack Obama may have forced Biden to step down.

A source told Fox News:

[The] Obamas are still not on the White House good side. It would not be helpful to their relationships. We are in tricky territory.

Despite leaving office in 2017, Obama still maintains great sway over the Democratic Party, particularly over Biden. At the moment, Obama is still in control.
