China’s Promise to Slow Its Poisoning of Americans Is Hollow

Despite promises to tighten export controls, “China is still the principal supplier of … precursors for fentanyl,” said international organized crime expert Vanda Felbab-Brown in an interview with The Killing Drug.

China said recently that it would cooperate with the United States to slow the fentanyl trade. The nation placed restrictions on several drugs and agreed to collaborate with the U.S. on prosecuting Chinese entities that launder money for Mexican cartels.

But will China fulfill these promises?

All for show: China’s promises amount to “little more than a public-relations stunt,” wrote John Coyne, an expert on criminal drug markets at the Australia Strategic Policy Institute. When Chinese authorities restrict a certain precursor chemical used to make fentanyl, they instruct their manufacturers to find loopholes around the restriction.

As we wrote in our May-June issue, “Chinese Communist Party officials order their scientists to tweak the chemical compound ever so slightly. The ‘brand new chemical’ is technically not illegal but is every bit as potent, addictive and destructive to American users, and that’s the point.”

Insidious warfare: Though most Americans are oblivious, China is at war with them. Over 70,000 Americans die each year from fentanyl overdoses, yet China is not eager to stop it. The current pledges amount to very little. And as soon as it benefits China, even these superficial shows of cooperation will be withdrawn.

China not only supplies fentanyl’s precursor chemicals to Mexican cartels, but is involved in most every step of the poisoning of America, including giving cartels “recipes,” trafficking, and money laundering. China wants to surpass America to become the world’s leading power, and its leaders are using deceitful and pernicious means to achieve that goal.

The Trumpet said: The Bible prophesies of America’s decline and the simultaneous rise of China. Because of this, the Trumpet has closely followed China’s attempts to weaken the United States, including with fentanyl.
