Ireland Mulls Joining New EU Spy Agency
The Republic of Ireland is considering plans to join a new European Union spy agency designed to counter the Five Eyes international intelligence network of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. In a statement to Gript on November 3, Ireland’s Department of Justice confirmed that Ireland is examining a proposal to join an as-yet nameless “cia-style European spy service.” Ireland already has an intelligence-sharing agreement with the European Union, but this new proposal would have Dublin taking greater direction from Brussels.
In March, outgoing Finnish President Sauli Niinistö was tasked by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to deliver a report on the bloc’s readiness for war. Seven months later, Niinistö published a document recommending that the EU develop a “fully fledged intelligence cooperation service at the EU level that can serve both the strategic and operational needs.”
EU member states are now considering the merits of the plan, and Ireland is one of the states likely to embrace the proposal. Irish Defense Forces already play an active role in EU battlegroups often dubbed the “EU army.”
Since the UK left the EU in 2016, the Republic of Ireland is the only portion of the British Isles under EU control. This becomes tremendously significant when you realize what Bible prophecy says about the relationship between Britain and Ireland.
In his most popular book, The United States and Britain in Prophecy, the late Herbert W. Armstrong noted that at least 11 European nations were partially descended from ancient Israel: Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Iceland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. This astonishing fact means that end-time prophecies about Israel involve these nations and their colonies.
Mr. Armstrong wrote in his landmark book:
The tribe of Dan occupied two different districts, or provinces, in the Holy Land before the Assyrian captivity. One colony lived on the seacoast of Palestine. They were principally seamen, and it is recorded Dan abode in ships (Judges 5:17).
When Assyria captured Israel, these Danites struck out in their ships and sailed west through the Mediterranean and north to Ireland. Just before his death, Moses prophesied of Dan: “… Dan is a lion’s whelp: he shall leap from Bashan” (Deuteronomy 33:22). Along the shores of the Mediterranean they left their trail in “Den,” “Don” and “Din.”
Irish annals and history show that the new settlers of Ireland, at just this time, were the “Tuatha dé Dananns,” which means, translated, “tribe of Dan.” Sometimes the same appears simply as “Tuathe De,” meaning the “people of God.” And in Ireland we find they left these “waymarks”: Dans-Laugh, Dan-Sower, Dun-dalk, Dun-drum, Don-egal Bay, Don-egal City, Dun-gloe, Din-gle, Dunsmor (meaning “more Dans”).
The Irish are descended from Dan, like the English are descended from Joseph—whom Jacob prophesied would be a colonizing people “whose branches run over the wall” (Genesis 49:22).
In the May 1996 Philadelphia Trumpet, late Trumpet writer Ron Fraser pointed to a prophecy in Jeremiah 8 as evidence that Ireland may help an EU army conquer Britain soon. This prophecy states: “The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan: the whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they are come, and have devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those that dwell therein. For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the Lord” (Jeremiah 8:16-17).
Anciently, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon invaded Judah from the north; therefore, the horses of his army were first heard from the city of Dan, the northernmost city in Israel. Yet Jeremiah 8 is not primarily about history. It is a prophetic account about a future time when the bones of the kings of Judah are spread on the hilltops. At this time, the people of Dan hear news that an army is coming to invade America, Britain and Israel. Yet they do nothing to stop the invasion. Rather, they seem to side with the invaders against their Israelite brothers.
“Prophecy declares that a German-dominated European power, under the influence of a great false church, is to dispossess Israel (significantly the U.S. and Britain) of their land and drive their population into slavery!” Mr. Fraser continued in his article. “In a previous war [World War ii], the neutral Irish government did not permit an invasion of Britain from Ireland’s shores. Will they be similarly minded next time? Or does Jeremiah’s prophecy indicate that elements of the future Nazi-dominated Euro-beast power will swoop from Dan, the island of Ireland, to swarm in a great blitzkrieg across England’s ‘green and pleasant land’?”
Ireland’s participation in a new “cia-style European spy service” would give the modern-day Danites the ability to hear the snorting of EU horses long before they break into a cavalry charge. But would the Irish alert Britain to EU invasion plans? The Bible shows that intense punishment is coming upon Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. Treachery from Ireland could be part of this punishment as Dublin allies with continental Europe.
