Putin Prepares to Visit Ally India
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s planned visit to India this year will strengthen their growing strategic and economic partnership, reported the Times of India on Friday.
- It will be Putin’s first official visit to India since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war on Ukraine.
- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov praised India’s “consistently balanced position” on Russia’s war.
Cooperation: “The relations between our countries have a long history. We can say that they have stood the test of time more than once,” said Lavrov, while announcing the visit. He added that Russia and India are seeking to develop “equal cooperation based on sincere, mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests.”
Growing alliance: India and Russia’s strong economic relationship has proved to be vital for Russia during its war on Ukraine. The cooperation between these nations is growing stronger and more crucial.
