19 Chinese Navy Vessels Surround Taiwan in Drills
China’s military conducted a large-scale exercise around Taiwan on Tuesday as a “severe warning” against Taiwan’s independence, the spokesperson for the People’s Liberation Army’s Eastern Theater Command said.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense tracked 19 Chinese Navy vessels in its surrounding waters from 6 a.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday.
The joint army, navy and rocket force drills aimed to practice “seizing comprehensive control” of Taiwan, the Chinese military said.
“Parasite”: In a series of propaganda videos released just before the drills, China’s military depicted Taiwanese President Lai Ching-Te as a parasite and accused him of “poisoning Taiwan.”
Videos also showed China’s army surrounding the island as it burned.
Takeover: China is practicing taking over Taiwan, and it is facing little resistance from the rest of the world. These drills will likely soon become a live military operation.
Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry warned this would happen in his 1998 article “Taiwan Betrayal”:
How could anyone fail to see that Taiwan is destined to become a part of mainland China? These [23 million] people are going to be forced into the Chinese mold; and it is going to happen for one reason: because of a pitifully weak-willed America.
