20,000 Federal Workers Take President Trump’s ‘Buyout’ Offer

As part of his quest to drain the swamp, United States President Donald Trump offered a deal to the federal government’s 2.3 million bureaucrats: If they willingly resigned before February 6, he would continue to pay them until September.

At least 20,000 federal employees have accepted this deal, nearly 1 percent of the federal workforce. President Trump has begun shrinking the “deep state,” and he has no intention of replacing these employees.

Overgrown government: While America’s population has increased about 80-fold in the past two centuries, the size of the executive branch has exploded to well over 2,000 times its original size.

In 1790, the executive branch had about 1,000 nonmilitary workers. Today, roughly 2.3 million nonmilitary civil servants are in the executive branch, spread across 15 departments, 69 agencies and 383 nonmilitary subcommittees. Many of these employees work to subvert the agenda of incoming presidents.

Kingdom’s court: Bible prophecy strongly indicates President Trump will have some measure of success in his quest to slay the sprawling bureaucracy that has taken over the federal government.

Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has prophesied that President Trump is an end-time type of King Jeroboam ii. In the August 2019 Trumpet issue, he showed that a prophecy in Amos 7:12-13 says this end-time Jeroboam will be supported by a religious movement called the “king’s chapel” and a secular government entity called the “king’s court,” or “kingdom’s court.”

Mr. Flurry wrote that the kingdom’s court refers mainly to the U.S. Supreme Court and the numerous executive agencies operating in Washington, D.C. President Trump was unable to get control of these agencies during his first term, but he is now taking action to downsize the deep state to the point where one man can lead the executive branch—as the founders intended.
