Taiwan Seizes Chinese-Manned Ship After Alleged Sabotage

Taiwanese officials seized a Chinese-manned ship that was suspected of cutting an undersea cable on Tuesday.

This is not the first instance of Taiwan’s cables being cut, likely by Chinese operatives.

Full story: Taiwan’s Chunghwa Telecom reported the incident, which concerned a cable connecting mainland Taiwan to the nation’s Penghu islands. The Taiwanese took the intercepted ship, the Hongtai, from the area.

  • The Hongtai is a Togolese-flagged cargo ship.
  • Its voyage was funded by China.
  • All eight of its crewmen were Chinese.
  • The ship anchored near the damaged part of the cable for several days before it was severed.

Undersea cables are vital in today’s modern society. Taiwan worries that China will systematically target its underwater cables as part of its efforts to conquer the island, which the Chinese Communist Party claims as its own.

Prophesied aggression: The Bible prophesied the aggression we see from China today. Its militarism and hegemonic ambitions will lead to Taiwan’s fall and push the world into a more dangerous era.
