Putin to Mediate U.S.-Iran Nuclear Talks
Russia accepted President Donald Trump’s proposition to mediate nuclear talks between the United States and Iran, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.
Why it matters: In order to be seen as a peacemaker, President Trump is cozying up to America’s enemies. This will not end well for the U.S. or the world.
Trump campaigned on bankrupting Iran. Since then, he has pushed a new nuclear deal and pressured Israel into accepting a peace deal with Iranian terrorist proxy Hamas.
He cited his actions during his first term concerning the Nord Stream 2 pipeline to show how he would be hard on Russia. Now Russia seeks to rebuild the pipeline with U.S. help, and those in Mr. Trump’s administration who know about the plan “see it as part of the push to rebuild relations with Moscow.”
Details: Mr. Trump asked Russian President Vladimir Putin about this in a February phone call. Top officials from both nations discussed the idea a few days later in Saudi Arabia, according to Russian sources.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei seems unwilling to negotiate with Mr. Trump. The U.S. may have reached out to Russia in an attempt to make Iran more willing to come to the negotiating table.
Prophesied mistake: The Bible prophesies that the U.S. will attempt to make peace with enemy nations. President Trump should not negotiate with men like Putin and Khamenei.
Though Mr. Trump thinks he is making peace, he is setting the stage for America’s fall.
