China ‘Ready for War’ With America, Increases Defense Budget
China said it is “ready for war” with America and raised its defense spending by 7.2 percent, the Telegraph reported on March 5.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang announced the defense spending boost, saying that “changes unseen in a century were unfolding across the world at a faster pace.”
Tariffs: The announcement came the day after United States President Donald Trump announced he would increase tariffs on Chinese goods from 10 percent to 20 percent. He did this because of China’s responsibility in the fentanyl opioid crisis in America.
China responded by imposing tariffs ranging from 10 to 15 percent on U.S. farm products. The Chinese Embassy posted on X:
If war is what the U.S. wants, be it a tariff war, a trade war or any other type of war, we’re ready to fight until the end.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry stated:
Intimidation does not scare us. Bullying does not work on us. Pressuring, coercion or threats are not the right way of dealing with China. … Anyone using maximum pressure on China is picking the wrong guy and miscalculating.
These statements mark some of the strongest language from China since Trump became president.
Defense budgets: China’s defense budget increase comes despite Trump’s proposal last month that China and Russia cut their military budgets in half so the U.S. could do the same.
Since Xi Jinping became ruler of China, the defense budget has gone from $99 billion in 2013 to $245 billion this year. Xi aims to fully modernize China’s military by 2035 by developing new missiles, ships, submarines and surveillance technologies.
What’s next? Numerous passages in the Bible warn that China will continue to grow as a formidable power and combine its strength with Russia. It will also play a major role in a worldwide economic alliance that will destroy America.
