EU Approval Rating Hits Record High
Support for the European Union among its citizens has reached a record high, according to a Eurobarometer poll published on Tuesday.
- The pollsters conducted face-to-face interviews with individuals in all 27 EU nations.
- It found that 74 percent of EU citizens believe their nation’s membership in the bloc benefited them.
- This marks the highest percentage since the question was first asked in 1983.
- 89 percent of respondents say Europe needs still greater unity to confront international challenges.
