Day 1 at the Ophel excavation was heavy lifting day. Herbert W. Armstrong College students helped unload trucks, unpack equipment, build stairs, assemble portable toilets, whack weeds and cut down small trees. I tagged along for the first few hours of the workday in order to find a little nook for “office” work, gather some footage and coordinate a brief address by Dr. Eilat Mazar during lunch. We will broadcast her touching remarks in a couple days.
