Six people were injured after Antifa agitators jumped over concrete barricades and assaulted a group of anti-Marxist demonstrators on the University of California–Berkeley campus on August 27. Their faces covered by black bandanas, the Antifa activists then melted back into a crowd of about 2,000 left-wing activists. The larger group chanted, “No Trump. No kkk. No fascist U.S.A.” and, “No Trump. No wall. No U.S.A. at all!”

This violence is the fifth time this year that Antifa has made headlines for its role in violent street protests. All the world can see that an unparalleled spirit of lawlessness is taking deep root in American society. Many are asking, “Who is organizing these demonstrations?”

These riots are ultimately being stirred up not by a person or group of people, but by an evil spirit force working to destroy the United States.

Antifa is a network of loosely affiliated anarchist and Communist groups named in honor of the Communist Party of Germany’s paramilitary wing (now defunct). Many of the protests attended by Antifa members are organized by a group called “Refuse Fascism.”

The goal of Refuse Fascism, according to Eva Sahana, a 22-year-old organizer, is to “drive out the Trump and Pence fascist regime.” This group planned the protests that kept British media personality Milo Yiannopoulos from speaking at Berkeley last February, as well as the violent counterprotest last August against the “No to Marxism in America” rally.

Refuse Fascism was cofounded by Dr. Cornel West, a prominent member of the Democratic Socialists of America, and Carl Dix, a founding member of the Revolutionary Communist Party. Unlike the Communist Party usa (which works with progressives inside the Democratic Party to gradually transform America into a socialist state), the Revolutionary Communist Party believes the way to defeat capitalism is through a people’s revolution.

Refuse Fascism is now organizing protests against the Trump administration, scheduled to begin on November 4. The plan is to protest until President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are somehow removed from office. Internal presentations from a Refuse Fascism conference reveal that these protests are designed to make America’s leaders “lose respect and legitimacy in the eyes of people here and internationally.”

According to its website, Refuse Fascism is primarily sponsored by the Alliance for Global Justice, a self-described “people’s think tank” that funds a wide variety of far-left groups. The Alliance for Global Justice is in turn funded by the Arca Foundation, the Ben and Jerry’s Foundation, the Brightwater Fund, the Foundation for Deep Ecology, the Hill Snowdon Foundation, the Tides Foundation and the Open Society Foundations (an international grant-making network founded by billionaire George Soros).

While many would consider Antifa and Refuse Fascism to be fringe movements, mainstream media outlets are not only covering them seriously but are also promoting their narrative. Dr. Cornel West is a frequent guest on the Bill Maher Show, cnn and C-Span. He and others use their platforms to brand mainstream conservatives, libertarians and other free-speech advocates as racists who are equivalent to neo-Nazis and members of the Ku Klux Klan.

If protesters backed by wealthy leftist organizations and individuals can discredit America’s current leaders to the point were a “political crisis” is created, they can try to force President Trump from office. Organizations like these believe they are helping America by bringing down President Trump. In reality, the spirit of lawlessness unleashed at these rallies is bringing down America itself. While the goals of Antifa and the Ben and Jerry’s Foundation may be quite different, their actions are unwittingly moving America in the same direction.

During another crisis of internal division, President Abraham Lincoln famously quoted Jesus Christ: “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

Unless the deep ideological division in America is healed, the violent protests and riots in America’s cities will only escalate.

Even mainstream commentators like cnn host Don Lemon and former House of Representatives Speaker Newt Gingrich are talking openly about the possibility of a second civil war in America. “What you’re seeing with Antifa, what you’re seeing on college campuses, what you’re seeing, to some extent, in the bureaucracy, is a real division of the country,” Gingrich said in an interview on Tucker Carlson Tonight. “I wish we could all sing Kumbaya and come together, but I don’t think that’s what’s gonna happen. … As a historian, my view is pretty straightforward: one side or the other wins.”

While politicians can speculate about winners and losers, there is actually a more certain way to know how this situation will play out. The American people do not understand their Bibles like they once did. Yet the Bible not only predicts that another civil war will occur in America, it predicts that neither side will win.

Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry writes in Ezekiel: The End-Time Prophet, “Prophecy indicates that the German-led European Union will soon join forces with Russia, China and Japan to shut the U.S. out of more and more markets. … The United States and Britain are going to be left out in the cold as two gigantic trade blocs, Europe and Asia, mesh together and begin calling the shots in world commerce. These nations of Israel are going to be literally besieged—economically frozen out of world trade! As that happens, domestic rioting and violence will become much more prevalent. Already in America today, instances of rioting and burning are occurring more regularly, often associated with racial hatred.”

Now is the time for every American to ask what might we be doing to have brought such punishment upon ourselves. God is allowing all of this to happen for a specific reason.
