Will the New Congress Investigate Nancy Pelosi?
The Republican Party has earned a small majority in the House of Representatives. With a new party comes new congressional leadership. This could mean a shift in Congress’s current priorities. The New York Times reported Wednesday:
In a closed-door meeting of Republicans on Monday, right-wing lawmakers including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia extracted a promise that their leaders would investigate Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Justice Department for their treatment of defendants jailed in connection with the January 6 attack on the Capitol.
Investigating the investigators: After the Jan. 6, 2021, election protests, federal police went after anybody remotely involved in the incident. Protesters and even bystanders were branded “insurrectionists” and sent to jail without trial. Some have been imprisoned for months in abysmal conditions. Pelosi’s use of the Capitol Police in the investigation led some to accuse her of turning the force into her Praetorian Guard.
To this point, the Democratic Party has been able to carry out its actions unopposed. With the next Congress, figures like Pelosi may get more scrutiny for their actions. They may even face legal trouble.
Prophecy says: 2 Kings 14:26-28 is a prophecy of modern America facing “bitter affliction.” Forces are at work to “blot out the name of Israel [modern America] from under heaven.” The Capitol Police purges are part of this blotting out. Yet the same Bible prophesies that this conspiracy will be exposed for what it is. The new Republican-led Congress could have something to do with this. To learn more, read America Under Attack.
