China and India Eager to Resume Cooperation
Chinese and Indian officials discussed their aims for an “early resumption” of cooperation at an event commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the nations on Tuesday.
- Discussions focused on how to ease border tensions in preparation for upcoming diplomatic talks.
- In October, China and India agreed to make peace in previously contentious areas of their border; these latest discussions signal China’s and India’s willingness to speed up their efforts at cooperation.
What the Trumpet said: Even when China and India were in the midst of violent outbursts over border tensions in 2020, the Trumpet forecast that these tensions would be largely resolved.
[T]he Trumpet believes that a major conflict between China and India will not happen, and if isolated clashes do continue to erupt, they will be short-lived. [T]hough [India’s] relations with China are presently under considerable strain, the tensions will not last.
—Jeremiah Jacques, “China and India: Two Nuclear Powers Clash—With Sticks and Stones”
Prophetic perspective: The Bible prophesies of a seismic Asian alliance that will be headed by Russia and China and will include India. That is why the Trumpet closely watches deepening cooperation between these nations.
