Supreme Court Keeps Trump on Ballot
The United States Supreme Court gave Donald Trump a notable victory on Monday, unanimously ruling that states are not authorized to ban candidates from federal office under a constitutional clause related to insurrection.
Details: In December, Colorado barred Trump from the presidential ballot. Since then, other states have followed suit.
The ruling was based off an article by legal scholars William Baude and Michael Stokes Paulsen that claimed the U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment, Section 3, bars those who have taken part in an insurrection from taking political office. They applied this to Trump because of his connection to the Jan. 6, 2021, protests.
Main takeaway: Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry maintains that the Supreme Court will help President Trump, as foretold in Bible prophecy. The Supreme Court may play a major role in putting Trump back in the White House.
