The Presidential Debate: A Disaster for Biden

“There’s no two ways about it, that was not a good debate for Joe Biden,” Kate Bedingfield, Biden’s former communications director, said on cnn. Many agree.

Last night’s 2024 presidential debate hosted by cnn in Atlanta, Georgia, was a disaster for Biden. Democratic strategists, donors and advisers are now discussing potentially replacing him as their candidate.

With a scratchy voice Biden stumbled over his words, mumbled, lost his train of thought, and froze multiple times over the course of the 90-minute event. His Republican opponent Donald Trump was considered the clear winner.

The New York Times wrote:

It wasn’t just that Biden wasn’t landing a glove on Donald Trump on the economy, the overturning of Roe v. Wade, covid, taxes, temperament or anything else that was coming up in the questioning. It was Biden’s voice (low and weak) and facial expression (frozen, mouth open, few smirks) with answers that were rambling or vague or ended in confusion.

Biden made gaffes when answering nearly every question.

At a watch party after the debate, Jill Biden congratulated her husband on just answering the questions.

What people are saying: cnn contributor Van Jones admitted that watching the debate was “painful.”

Scott Jennings said the debate proved Democrats have been lying about Biden’s health and mental stability.

Is Biden finished? Many analysts, commentators and politicians believe this could be the end of Biden’s political career.

“I’m very worried,” one Democratic lawmaker said. “I’m on my knees praying it’s not too late to replace him. This was so avoidable.”

Joe Biden had one thing he had to do tonight, and he didn’t do it. He had one thing he had to accomplish, and that was reassure America that he was up to the job at his age. And he failed at that.

At the moment Biden shows no signs of stepping out of the presidential race. At a Waffle House after the debate, Biden defended himself saying, “I think we did well.”

Democrats could force Biden to step down, but as Trumpet executive editor Stephen Flurry wrote on X, the command would have to come from one man in particular.

Running the show: In his book America Under Attack, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry explains that Biden and his administration are following the orders of Barack Obama. If Obama wants Biden out of the picture, he will make it happen.
