As Kamala Harris formally accepted the Democratic Party nomination in Chicago, Donald Trump visited America’s southern border. With a completed border wall to his right and unused construction materials to his left, Trump promised to impose the death penalty on sex traffickers, seal the border, stop the invasion, and launch the largest deportation effort in American history if elected president. He also warned that Harris is a Marxist who will never build a wall or take any meaningful action to defend the United States.

“We have a Marxist that’s running,” Trump told reporters in Arizona on August 22. “This country is not ready for a Marxist president. She will never build the wall. She doesn’t want to build the wall.”

Normally, accusing someone of being a Marxist just because they are lax on border control is a gross exaggeration. Yet in this instance, the facts seem to be in Trump’s favor. At a rally in Pennsylvania on August 19, Trump went into more detail, explaining that Harris’s father was “a Marxist professor, and I believe he taught her well.”

A few media outlets took offense at this characterization and noted that Harris’s father was a renowned economist at Stanford. Yet the New Yorker confirmed that Donald J. Harris was “a renowned Marxist economist from Jamaica who taught at Stanford University for decades.” His doctoral thesis from the University of California, Berkeley, was filled with proposals for the type of centralized government control over the economy his daughter is currently espousing in her price control plan. The idea that Kamala learned socialist economic analysis from her Marxist father is not far-fetched.

Trump said he believes the country “is not ready for a Marxist president,” yet he should have said the country “is not ready for another Marxist president.” Barack Obama’s father was a Marxist economist from Kenya. And even though Obama’s father abandoned him when he was young, teenage Obama was mentored by Frank Marshall Davis (whose Federal Bureau of Investigation file says his Communist Party identification number was #47544).

America has been strongly influenced by Marxist politicians in the highest echelons of government for at least 16 years. This fact goes a long way in explaining the economic, moral, national security and social disasters afflicting the nation.

When Obama burst onto the national stage in 2008, his Marxist connections were so shocking that many refused to believe the evidence. Now Marxist associations are no longer considered shocking. Former cia director John Brennan and current Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg also have a Marxist past. Brennan voted for Communist Party usa candidate Gus Hall in 1976, and Buttigieg’s father was a translator and editor of the three-volume English edition of Marxist philosopher and politician Antonio Gramsci’s Prison Notebooks. These notebooks explain how to fundamentally transform a First World nation into a Communist state by establishing a “counterculture” that could infiltrate academia, government, religion and society at large.

Harris is not threatening to start such a counterrevolution by introducing her father’s Marxist economic principles into the American government. She is threatening to continue a counterrevolution that has already hijacked academia, the media and the government. You don’t have to dig far to see that the government is full of “red diaper babies”—children whose parents were members of the Communist Party or at least sympathetic to its aims. Harris was recruited by this Communist cabal, but she does not lead it.

Decades ago, Herbert W. Armstrong warned that far-left philosophy would strip America of its blessings—the greatest national blessings ever conferred on any people. He said this would happen not because socialists outmaneuvered conservatives, but because the American people as a whole have turned away from God’s law. In particular, he warned that Communist thought would pervert America’s morals, sabotage its educational system, wreck its social structure, destroy its spiritual life, and weaken its economic power.

“Why are our people unable to recognize the Communist line—the Communist plan and conspiracy—in college and university riots, in propaganda accusing ‘police brutality,’ in ‘black power,’ ‘black panther’ and other slogans, even in ‘civil disobedience’ and ‘nonviolent’ movements of protest which lead to violence?” he asked in the March 1969 edition of his flagship magazine, the Plain Truth. “The guiding hand in student revolt is the Communist Party. Many students, their emotions stirred and enraged to violence, do not themselves realize this. Yet actually, these young leaders of the ‘New Left’ movement are going beyond the Communist Party. Their plan is to stir up college-age students to revolt first, and the teenage high school adolescents. If they can corrupt and/or win over tomorrow’s students, they will gain control.”

Those students of the 1960s are now educators, journalists, leaders, senators and presidential candidates.

Mr. Armstrong based his forecast on Bible prophecy. Hosea 7:8 predicts that the modern-day descendants of ancient Israel would mix themselves with foreigners and foreign ideologies. The far-left ideas put forward by the Democratic Party today are not based on traditional American culture, which is largely based on the Bible. They were brought to America from German and Russian universities. The 1960s New Left student radicals who embraced these ideas are the leaders of the modern Democratic Party. They are now shifting their party even further toward socialism to gain the support of the millennial generation—a demographic that leans overwhelmingly Democrat and even socialist. Their strategy can only lead to violence as socialist revolutionaries seek to destroy the current system and replace it with another.

God is using men like Donald Trump to hold back this tide of violence by doing things like securing the border, but their efforts will only bear fruits for so long unless the entire nation changes direction and returns to God.
