Germany to Send €8 Million in Aid to Syria

Germany will send €8 million (us$8.4 million) in humanitarian aid to Syria, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said on December 11.

“We see a moment of hope,” she said, while warning that the situation was “anything but stable.”

Soaring prices: Syria’s food prices have risen dramatically since the fall of Bashar Assad’s government. The price of bread has gone up 900 percent, Baerbock said, urging for more German aid for the Syrian people.

German presence: Baerbock said Germany would also increase its presence in Syria to help dismantle the chemical weapons that Assad left behind.

The idea that gas weapons from Syrian factories could fall into the wrong hands and play a role in Islamist-motivated attacks somewhere in the world is an idea that would be unbearable.

Prophesied alliance: Germany has been one of Syria’s largest donors since the civil war erupted in 2011. Bible prophecy informs us that we should expect Germany to capitalize on the fall of the Iran-backed Assad government and develop a closer relationship with Syria.
