What a day. Donald Trump has taken the oath of office and is now president of the United States—again.

In his second inaugural address, he stated that he had been “saved by God to make America great again.” “The journey to reclaim our republic has not been an easy one, that I can tell you,” he said. “Those who wish to stop our cause have tried to take my freedom, and indeed, to take my life. Just a few months ago, in that beautiful Pennsylvania field, an assassin’s bullet ripped through my ear. But I felt then, and believe even more so now, that my life was saved for a reason. I was saved by God to make America great again.”

Trumpet readers know better than anyone else how true that is!

Amid thunderous applause in the rotunda of the Capitol, President Trump announced his intention to sign a series of executive orders to halt illegal immigration, deport illegal immigrants, designate drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, approve oil drilling, and enact tariffs on foreign nations. He also announced that it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female. The era of diversity, equity and inclusion is over, he said.

After proclaiming that Mount Denali will be renamed Mount McKinley and that the Gulf of Mexico will be renamed the Gulf of America, President Trump noted, “The United States will once again consider itself a growing nation, one that increases our wealth, expands our territory, builds our cities, raises our expectations, and carries our flag into new and beautiful horizons. And we will pursue our manifest destiny into the stars, launching American astronauts to plant the stars and stripes on the planet Mars. … Americans are explorers, builders, innovators, entrepreneurs and pioneers.”

Dow Jones, S&P 500, and Nasdaq stock futures rose as a wave of optimism washed over the nation. Meanwhile, preachers like Franklin Graham called on God to grant President Trump wisdom and strength, likening his leadership to the biblical figure Moses. “You and you alone saved his life and raised him up with strength and power by your mighty hand,” Graham prayed. “We pray for President Trump, that you’ll watch over, protect, guide, direct him, give him your wisdom from your throne on high. We ask that you would bless him and that our nation would be blessed through him.”

What a momentous day for so many Americans. It’s hard to believe that two years ago, Republicans were calling Donald Trump a “has-been,” a “loser,” a “liability” and even an “insurrectionist” and a “criminal.” His journey back to the White House has been truly miraculous in so many ways. This fact has become increasingly harder to deny ever since an assassin’s bullet blew off the upper portion of Mr. Trump’s ear because he turned his head at exactly the right moment. This wasn’t a coincidence. The people saying God spared Trump’s life for a reason are absolutely right! Donald Trump really was saved by God, and God really is using him to save America from the radical leftists trying to destroy it.

After using the covid-19 pandemic as an excuse to steal the 2020 U.S. presidential election with fraudulent mail-in ballots, the radical left set out to completely destroy Donald Trump’s political career. Yet look at all the ways God has helped Trump since those dark days. He sent the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, to buy Twitter and make sure that conservative Americans had a way to freely express their ideas and opinions. He sent the Supreme Court to stop the radical left from banning Trump from office. And He sent a cross breeze and a head turn to evade a bullet.

Without these and other miracles, President Trump would have been censored, imprisoned or killed. God prevented these things from happening and helped Mr. Trump “war” his way back into office “to save our country and to restore America to greatness.” Despite the odds stacked against him, Trump won all seven swing states in a landslide victory, became the first Republican in 20 years to win the popular vote, and has now entered office with a mandate to roll back the leftist takeover of America.

Based on ballot data currently available, roughly 6 million fewer people voted for Kamala Harris this election than voted for Joe Biden last election. Yet Trump received 3 million more votes this election than he received last election. This helps us put a scale on the sheer number of fraudulent mail-in ballots from the 2020 election that installed a fake president!

The Democrats no doubt tried to steal this election, but without covid-19 lockdowns, the share of Americans who allegedly voted by mail fell from 46 percent to 34 percent. This made 2024 much harder to rig than 2020. We should all thank God for this fact. He has given America one last free and fair election so it has time to make changes.

Roughly 63 percent of Protestant voters and 59 percent of Catholic voters cast a ballot for Donald Trump, so his miracle victory was definitely driven by religious people. God is honoring the efforts of these people and saving the nation—temporarily—to give them a chance to turn the nation around with repentance. American Christians must not make the mistake of thinking God will bless them no matter what they do. Rather, God is trying to get their attention not just so that they bow their heads while a few different religious speakers pray for President Trump at the inaugural ceremony but so that that they turn away from their many sins and begin to truly believe Him and obey Him!

The nation has been afflicted by the radical left for 16 years because the American people have turned away from God and His way of life. This nation has not only big security, political and economic changes to make but also big moral and cultural changes! That is the only way to make God’s blessing permanent. If the nation doesn’t make these changes, then Trump’s victory and presidency will constitute nothing more than a brief respite. God is not going to let America pursue a “manifest destiny into the stars” until they are ready for the responsibility.

Now religious chapels across the nation are waking up to the fact that God is using President Trump in a miraculous way. But it’s not enough to realize that God is intervening. We need to understand why!
