Leaked Documents Expose Moscow’s Funding of Georgian Dream

Leaked documents show that Russian operatives have been instrumental in the Georgian Dream party’s domination of Georgia’s politics, the Byline Times reported on March 31.

Stolen election: Georgian Dream garnered attention in January for stealing the nation’s election. Evidence continues to mount that the party is Kremlin-funded and enabled.

• The documents show that Hunnewell Partners, a pro-Kremlin equity firm, has been “acting on behalf of one of Vladimir Putin’s most trusted confidants: Roman Abramovich.”
• Hunnewell’s founders were also found to be business partners of Bidzina Ivanishvili, the Georgian oligarch who made his fortune in Russia, founded Georgian Dream, and helped steer the nation into Russia’s grip.
