Surrendering Territory Won in 1967 “Inevitable,” Says Olmert
Earlier today, at the Annapolis conference, Ehud Olmert stated, “I have no doubt that the reality created in our region in 1967 will change significantly. While this will be an extremely difficult process for many of us, it is nevertheless inevitable.”
President Bush hopes to conclude this difficult process by the end of his term next year. Regarding today’s meeting, the New York Sun says the president “has already won a key concession from Mr. Olmert, who yielded on his demand that final status talks be delayed until the Palestinian Authority was able to take action against terrorism.”
In other words, the suicidal road map to “peace” now looks like this: Give the Palestinians a state, truncate Israel’s borders to the point of indefensibility, then deal with the problem of terrorism—in that order.
