Germany Sends Economic Aid to Jordan
Jordan will receive €99 million (us$143 million) in economic aid from Germany after German Ambassador Ralf Tarraf and Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Jaafer Hassan signed two agreements August 22.
Deutsche Presse-Agentur reports that Germany is “one of Jordan’s main financial supporters.” Hassan noted that Germany gave Jordan the equivalent of $320 million in economic aid between 2002 and 2010, not including EU grants.
From 2007 to 2010, the European Union gave Jordan €265 million (us$383 million) in aid, and it plans to send it €223 million (us$323 million) between 2011 and 2013.
The United States, by comparison, planned to give $250 million a year between 2007 and 2011, and its annual aid budget is well over twice the size of Germany’s.
In this agreement, Germany will give Jordan a cheap loan of €90 million as well as a €9 million donation.
The Bible prophesies that Germany will ally with a group of Middle Eastern nations, including Jordan. With Syria in turmoil and Saudi Arabia growing fearful of Iran, this alliance is coming together right now.
