America’s ‘death camps’
“America has death camps,” wrote Jeffrey Kuhner in the Washington Times on Thursday, referring to America’s abortion clinics.
In a particularly gruesome case, Pennsylvania abortionist Kermit Gosnell was charged on Wednesday with murdering seven babies who were born alive by snipping their spinal cords and with the killing of a woman who was given an overdose of painkillers during a botched abortion. Prosecutors allege that the 69-year-old Gosnell killed hundreds of babies over his 30-year practice.
During a raid of his office, police found several bags and bottles containing aborted fetuses and a shelf believed to contain the severed feet of babies. His clinic was compared to “a house of horrors” similar to something in Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia. The state health department allowed his squalid and unsanitary facility to operate without a single inspection since 1993. According to Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams, its reluctance to inspect the clinic was due, at least partially, to the “political sensitivity” of the abortion debate.
Unfortunately, the Pennsylvania case is not an isolated incident—“it is only the tip of the abortion iceberg,” wrote Kuhner. “The media is deliberately downplaying the story for one simple reason: There are hundreds of similar abortion clinics across the country.”
Since the Roe vs. Wade ruling, there have been nearly 50 million unborn babies killed in America. Some women are even being pressured to take the abortion route. A little over a year ago, the Trumpetreported on an exposé of Planned Parenthood clinics whose workers were videotaped lying to women and pressuring them into having abortions. Earlier this month, the Washington Timeswrote about the American Civil Liberties Union reproaching Catholic hospitals that refused to perform abortions.
Kuhner illustrated how this “state-sanctioned infanticide” is symptomatic of our national sickness: “Tens of millions of unborn babies have been slaughtered; illegitimacy rates have soared; divorce has skyrocketed; pornography is rampant; drug use has exploded; sexually transmitted diseases such as aids have killed millions; birth control is a way of life; sex outside of wedlock has become the norm; countless children have been permanently damaged … because of … broken homes; and sodomy and homosexuality are celebrated openly. America has become the new Babylon.”
The Gosnell case is a reminder of the ugly truth. The Bible prophesied that men and women would be “without natural affection” in this end time (2 Timothy 3:3). Nowhere is this more obvious than in the prevalence of abortion. “How else can you explain doctors being so willing to perform such grisly operations, and women being willing to undergo them—usually for selfish reasons?” the Trumpetwrote back in 2000. “Any means by which people cut off that human life demonstrates a pitiable ignorance—a lack of true education—about the purpose for human life and the incredible potential bound up within it.” To learn more about man’s awesome future, read The Incredible Human Potential.
