King Abdullah II Offers to Take in 2,000 Palestinian Children

United States President Donald Trump continued pressing his plans for the U.S. to take full ownership of the Gaza Strip during a press conference with Jordan’s King Abdullah ii.

After the two leaders met in the Oval Office on February 11, President Trump told reporters, “We’re going to have Gaza. We don’t have to buy. There’s nothing to buy. We will have Gaza. We’re going to take it; we’re going to hold it; we’re going to cherish it.”

King Abdullah is opposed to President Trump’s plan to relocate 2.1 million Palestinians. Yet when reporters asked him to weigh in on the plan, he repeatedly demurred in order to avoid antagonizing the president. Instead, the king promised that he would take in 2,000 sick Palestinian children from the Gaza Strip.

This promise seemed to placate President Trump, who called it a “beautiful gesture” before saying that he is 99 percent confident he could work out a deal with Egypt to take adult refugees from the region.

Hamas is a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood is trying to overthrow King Abdullah. Taking in a large number of Palestinians could be an existential threat to King Abdullah’s regime. He didn’t want to make any big promises until Trump heard back from Egypt.

‘MAGA Strip’: More than half of Gaza’s buildings have been damaged or destroyed since Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. President Trump wants to evacuate the area while America rebuilds the Gaza Strip into the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

Peace process: President Trump is correct that peace will never come to Israel as long as Hamas controls the Gaza Strip. The Bible calls the Israeli-Palestinian peace process a deadly wound (Hosea 5:13) because the Arab states do not truly want peace.

Psalm 83 prophesies of an alliance of Arab states—including Jordan and Saudi Arabia—that band together to cut Israel “off from being a nation.” This is a prophecy for the near future, which shows that Donald Trump’s plan for peace will fail unless he starts trusting God more and trusting the Arab states less.
